What’s new?
On the outside, the all-new A8 gets maximum updates in the form of a new grille and a sportier bumper. Talking about the grille, it does get larger and unlike the older one, it even incorporates a new mesh pattern with chrome finishing on top. A new set of chunky alloy wheels further helps in improving the overall stance of the updated A8 series.
In terms of features, the updated A8 sports a new pair of Matrix LED headlamps. Interestingly, even the taillamps are revised with OLED technology and come with sensors that auto activates when needed.
Coming to the customisation options, buyers can still go for the optional Chrome package for an unmatched experience. Making its debut is the all-new S Line Package that can be used to upgrade the standard A8 into an S8, cosmetically.
The cabin of the 2022 Audi A8 feels premium with the exact same layout. A multifunction steering wheel, wide air-con vents, twin screens with one reserved for AC controls and a fully digital instrument are there to make it feature loaded. The carmaker claims that the infotainment system has been updated and currently, uses the latest MIB 3 software.
Engine
Audi will be retailing the updated A8 with the same engine options. For starters, there’s a 340HP, 3.0-litre TFSI and a 286HP, 3.0-litre TDI engine to power the entry-level variants. Talking about the top-end variants, they will be using a V8 motor that comes paired to an electric motor for improved punch and overall fuel efficiency.
The carmaker will continue to sell the S8 model with a powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that churns out a massive 563HP and 800Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties for this setup are managed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox that works in conjunction with the brand’s ‘Quattro’ all-wheel-drive system.
