For the first time ever the public can see the GMC Hummer SUV electric vehicle before it comes to market in 2023.
GM will showcase several performance and electric vehicles, including the GMC Hummer SUV EV, at Motor Bella, the new car event at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac starting Sept. 23, GM said Monday.
GM’s display there also will feature the GM Defense Infantry Squad Vehicle and a full lineup of Chevrolet Performance and Motorsport cars including the Corvette C8.R and NASCAR Next Generation Camaro ZL1 race cars.
“For decades, GM and Chevrolet have served as industry leaders in automotive innovation, continually pushing the limits of what new technology and precision engineering can bring to the racetrack, showroom, and the aftermarket,” said Jim Campbell, GM vice president of Performance, Motorsports and Accessories. “GM’s Motor Bella display is a testament to the dedication and resolve of our performance, motorsports and production teams.”
GM also will display two 2022 International Motor Sports Association GT LeMans Championship Edition Corvette Stingrays, and a full array of special high-performance Camaros including a fifth-generation, a 2022 Big Block V-8, and the electrified drag racing concept car.
GM revealed the 2024 Hummer SUV in April. Production on the Hummer SUV begins in early 2023 at Factory ZERO in Detroit and Hamtramck, GM said.
The Hummer SUV Edition 1 will start at $105,595. It will have an expected range of 300 miles on a full charge. For $5,000 more, a customer can get the Extreme Off-Road Pack, which will have an expected range of 280 miles on a full charge.
GM will offer a variety of Hummer EV SUV editions in the future starting at a lower price than Edition 1. GM said a Hummer EV SUV Edition 2, 2x and 3x will start at $79,995, $89,995 and $99,995 respectively. The Edition 2 has a range of 250 miles, the 2x and 3x have a range of 300 miles each on a full charge.
In addition to the GM vehicles, Motor Bella will feature cars from Ford Motor Co., Stellantis and Toyota, with an expected 350 vehicles from 35 brands shown during the event. There also will be interactive displays on the KeyBank Track, a 120,000-square-foot off-road area and street course test drives.
Motor Bella will be open to the public Sept. 23-26.
